Feed-Through Systems

Whenever auxiliary equipment is used in a packer system, electric or pneumatic leads must be incorporated into the packer to access the instruments. Because of the Tigre Tierra® Packer's unique modular design, most feed-throughs can be built directly into the packers heads. In-line adapters also can be incorporated for more complex systems or smaller diameter packers.

Tigre Tierra® Inflatable Packers, designed and manufactured by Aardvark Packers, range from simple fixed-head balloon packers to steel-reinforced sliding-head Viton^® and stainless steel monitoring systems with multiple transducers and pumps. In addition, we offer our patented Tigre Tierra® Wireline Packer Systems for permeability testing during core drilling. Aardvark Packers also carries a complete line of packer-related accessories to meet your custom needs.

All of our sliding-head packer components thread together for ease of service in the field, and are designed modularly. This modular feature allows multiple packers to be installed in a single borehole to isolate various zones.

Many types of test and monitoring equipment can be incorporated into a Tigre Tierra® Packer System, including transducers, thermistors, conductivity probes, pH probes, injection ports, electric submersible pumps, bladder pumps, vertical turbine pumps, and piston pumps.

All Tigre Tierra® Sliding-Head Packers use steel reinforced glands for durability and resistance to cutting and abrasion. Steel reinforced natural rubber assures positive sealing in rough, irregular boreholes. The gland is able to double its run-in diameter so that the same packer can be used in a wide range of open or cased borehole sizes.

Construction options include stainless steel heads and glands that can be wrapped with Nitrile, Neoprene, or EPDM. Single and multiple packer systems are available with or without pumps and other testing equipment for wells of 1.5 to 13 inches, open or cased.
